In the morning of December 17, 2024, presidential elect Donald J. Trump visited the Brandeis School of San Francisco in an effort to pass a bill to change the Constitution, allowing President Trump to rerun for president in 2028. He organized a rally in the basketball gym, and more than half of the students came to support Trump and his bill. His efforts have expanded the Republican popularity over the Bay Area, although San Francisco, Alameda County, and Marin County still overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Many kids were confused as to why the president elect was giving a rally at their school, but most saw the importance of the issue. “He is a great president overall, and he deserves to run again,” says Milo on the issue. There is still a very long way to go before this bill is passed, but for now, the Republican party and the many students at Brandeis can enjoy Donald Trump’s presidency.
